The scope of the project is to develop an autonomous mobile platform in order to execute logistics operations in the warehouse, initially for its application in the automotive sector, but with high prospects to be applied in other industries or production processes.
To develop this innovative system, new technologies developed in the field of Robotics for the control of the mobile platform will be applied, as well as the inclusion of communication technologies to integrate in a vertically way the physical management of the warehouse with the overall management system, facilitating the handling of products and improving the global traceability of the goods.
The project “Robotic and autonomus system for independent transport of pallets, Sherpa Project” is supported by the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Framework Programm FEDER Galicia 2007-2013 , with a budget of 467.876,5 €, of which 74.862,63€ were aimed to Vasco Gallega Sociedad de Cartera and 53.394,67 € to Kaleido SCM.
